Alumni Stadium now welcomes 44,500 fans each football Saturday - an increase of 12,000 over its previous capacity. New scoreboards and instant replay screens, a new and improved lighting system, a state-of-the-art public address system, new concession and restroom facilities and a beautiful brick and glass exterior facade combine to make Alumni Stadium one of the finest football facilities in the nation.
The scenic Chestnut Hill stadium, with the Boston skyline offering a splendid background in the distance, heightens the excitement and enthusiasm that is part of every Boston College home game.
Among the many features of Alumni Stadium are:
The Forum also houses the 950-seat Power Gymnasium, as well as offices for Athletic Association staff and varsity coaches, film and conference rooms, the weight training and sports medicine facilities, locker and equipment rooms, indoor practice cages for the baseball and golf teams and practice and storage rooms for the Boston College band.
Conte Forum is also Boston College fan central, where tickets may be purchased for all BC athletic events. Its main concourse contains concession stands and souvenir shops, its rest rooms serve both Alumni Stadium and the Forum arena, and its eight luxury boxes overlook both the stadium and the basketball/hockey venue.
Video coordinator Bill Toof oversees a state-of-the-art control room that includes broadcast-quality Beta-Cam cameras and playback equipment, Ed-Beta (extended definition) equipment and the latest in editing decks.
Each of the Eagles' practice sessions and games is broken out by tapes of plays so coaches and players can look immediately at the parts of their game that will have the most impact against their next opponent. These tapes are ready for viewing within minutes after a practice or hours after a game.
A tape library contains all BC plays of the past four years, plus detailed tape analyses of upcoming opponents.
