The Department of Athletics has introduced the system of awarding Baldwin Points. Baldwin Points have been created as a method for keeping track of, and encouraging team participation above and beyond each team's individual sport.
The points will be tallied throughout the year and at the end of each academic year, the team with the most points will be awarded a trophy and a $500 award towards a program enhancement item.
Participation in the following types of events will be recognized for points:
Community Outreach programs such as:
| o | HEAR program |
| o | Food for Families |
| o | Adopt a Child |
| o | Franciscan Hospital Visits |
| o | Children's Hospital Visits |
Support for other teams by attending other teams events
Attending Athletic Department sponsored events
| o | Welcome Back Picnic |
| o | First Year Orientation |
Leadership roles on campus and in athletic community
Attendance at Life Skills Programming
| o | Resume workshops |
| o | Mentoring programs |
Academic Efforts
| o | Team GPA |
| o | Positive efforts in classroom and with tutors |
Baldwin Points are intended to be a means of keeping track of, and encourage, team participation within the Athletic Department and are awarded at the discretion of the Administration.
Coaches should keep track and report team participation in events that the Administration may not be aware of. Give materials to Jody Mooradian, Sr. Associate AD at jody.mooradian.1@bc.edu or X24801.
