Coed 2nd at the Truxt at Navy; Women finish 7th at St. Mary's

The Boston College team sailed very well at the Truxton Umsted Regatta which is sailed out of the Naval Academy in two double-handed divisions and a laser division. Juniors Brian Kamilar and Andrew Schneider and senior Alden Reid finished third in the A division while juniors Adam Roberts, Carrie Amarante and Parker Dwyer took fourth in the B division and senior Reed Johnson was third in the C division. However, St. Mary's was nearly perfect, winning both A and B divisions and taking sixth in the C division to take first place overall. The eagles finished in second.

In women's competition , freshman skippers Emily Maxwell and Briana Provancha, along with crews Elizabeth Dudley and Emily Flint, took seventh at St. Mary's Women's Intersectional. Provancha and Flint were fourth in the B division, winning three races.

At the Veitor Trophy at Salve Regina, junior Leigh Kempton and senior Alan Frith and junior Martha Pitt and senior Justine O'Connor finished second in a field of 15. Kempton/Frith tied the A division winners from Brown in points, but came out on the short end of the tie-breaker to take second in A, while Pitt/O'Connor took second in the B division. Freshman Halsey Richartz/ junior Julie Howe and sophomores Evan Cooke and Sandy Williams each won their divisions at this weekend's Central Series to win the regatta. A second team from Boston College, sophomores Avery Brooks and Field Osler and sophomore Christian Manchester and freshman Emily Migliaccio took second in the field of 12 at the Central.

 

 

The Eagles will compete in conference competition at Yale and MIT next weekend.
