WORCESTER, Mass. - Baseball headed west to take on intrastate rival Holy Cross this afternoon and picked up a 10-7 win over the Crusaders at Fitton Field. BC picks up its second non-conference win in as many days and improves its overall record to 8-11-1. Holy Cross falls to 2-9 on the season.

After the Eagles took an early 1-0 lead, the Crusaders put up a three spot in the bottom of the first off of starter Kurt Hayer. BC would quickly tie the game in the top of the next frame as they collected two hits and took advantage of a Holy Cross error.

The two squads exchanged runs over the course of the next few innings and the Crusaders held a 7-5 advantage heading into the top of the seventh. The Eagles would then score five unanswered runs in the next two innings including three in the top of the eighth to break a 7-7 tie.

Freshman Geoff Oxley earned the win for the Eagles as he pitched three no-hit innings and Dan Houston recorded the save.

The Eagles are back in action quickly as they open their home schedule tomorrow against North Carolina State. The game can be heard on WZBC. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Shea Field.
