Pat Duquette is in his 12th season on the Boston College coaching staff, his eighth as assistant coach. Duquette joined the staff as an administrative assistant in May 1997. After four years in that position, he was promoted to assistant coach in May 2001.
The last remaining member of Al Skinner's original BC staff, Duquette has played a key role in the Eagles' success over the last decade. A highly-regarded recruiter who is also respected for his strategic insights, Duquette has worked with Skinner to lead BC to post-season berths in seven of the last eight seasons. He has helped develop three All-Americans (Troy Bell, Craig Smith and Jared Dudley), two conference players of the year (Bell twice and Dudley), four all-conference first-team choices (Bell, Smith, Dudley and Rice) and one conference rookie of the year (Bell) during his BC tenure. The Eagles captured three Big East regular-season titles and one Big East Tournament crown before moving on to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Prior to joining Al Skinner's staff, Duquette served two years (1995-97) as assistant coach at St. Michael's (VT) College. While at St. Michael's, he earned a master's degree in administration.
A 1993 graduate of Williams College, Duquette served as basketball team captain as a senior, leading Williams to a Top 10 national ranking.
Upon graduation, Duquette served one year as an intern in the New Jersey Nets' NBA offices in East Rutherford, N.J. While working with the Nets, Duquette began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J. One year later, he accepted an assistant coaching position at St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University.
He then spent two years (1995-97) as assistant coach at St. Michael's College, before joining Skinner's staff here at Boston College.
