Statesboro, Ga. - The Boston College men's golf team competed against 18 of the nation's strongest intercollegiate golf programs, finishing in 18th place over the three-day tournament held Friday through Sunday at the Forest Heights Country Club.
The Eagles completed the course at 73-over-par with a combined score of 937. Senior Bob Reed notched BC's best performance, finishing at 10-over par. He shot a team-low 73 in the second round. Junior Jan Prokop shot a combined score of 233 (17-over-par), second-best for the Eagles. Freshmen Craig Kublin (22-over-par), Robert DeMaio (25-over-par) and senior Nick Lawler (31-over-par) rounded out the Eagles' performances.
Alabama, ranked second in the nation, took home the Schenkel E-Z-GO team title with a 15-under-par performance. South Carolina's George Bryan IV claimed individual medalist honors finishing at eight-under 208.
Spring competition continues for the men at the Lacrosse Homes Invitational hosted by Towson on March 29-30. The invitational will be held at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md.
