April 21, 2008

New London, N.C. - The Boston College men's golf team ended its 2008 campaign on a high note Sunday, finishing in 10th place out 11 other conference schools at the 2008 ACC Men's Golf Championship at the Old North State Club at Uwharrrie Point. The team's combined score of 886 is the best outing it has had since joining the conference.

Senior captain Bob Reed led the Eagles with a four-over-par performance, tying him for 36th place. His second round score of 68 was also a team-low round. He totaled a score of 220 over the three-day championship. Senior James Granello placed second on the team with a score of 221 (75, 74, 72). Freshman Matt Ouimet (225), junior Jan Prokop (229) and senior Alex Snickenberger (241) rounded out the team's individual performances.

Florida State claimed it's first-ever ACC Men's Golf Championship with a 26-under-par performance. Wake Forest's Webb Simpson took home the individual crown with his combined score of 202, a championship record.
