BOSTON - Seniors Peter Harrold and Stephen Gionta each scored one goal and Brian Boyle recorded two assists to lead fourth-ranked Boston College in a 3-2 loss in the Beanpot championship before 17,565 fans in TD Banknorth Garden.

Gionta scored at 6:24 in the third period to tie the game at two, sending a pass in front of the net that was deflected past BU goalie John Curry (18 saves), before BU's Peter MacArthur scored off a rebound with 7:17 left to lift the Terriers to the win.

BC sophomore goalie Cory Schneider recorded 33 saves in 58:45. He earned the Eberly Trophy presented to the goaltender who has the best save percentage (.924) in the two Beanpot games.

Harrold got the Eagles on the scoreboard with 2:28 left in the first period.

BU's Bryan Ewing tied the game off an assist from MacArthur at 4:07 of the second, and Jason Lawrence gave the Terriers the lead 5 minutes later before Gionta tied it at two.

BC (19-7-2) was out shot by a margin of 36-20.
