Boston College sophomore goaltender Cory Schneider earned Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, according to an announcement made by the conference on Monday.

Schneider stopped all 55 shots in leading BC to consecutive shutouts of fifth-ranked Vermont. The Marblehead, Mass., resident has recorded five Hockey East shutouts this season, which marks a conference record. The five shutouts tie him with Scott Clemmensen for the school record for shutouts in one season.

Additionally, Schneider has registered a shutout in three consecutive games, matching the school's standard set by Clemmensen in January 1998. He has not allowed a goal in 217 minutes and 49 seconds, the second-longest streak in BC history. In his last seven games, Schneider is 7-0-0 with a 0.43 goals against average and a .984 save percentage.

BC (16-4-2, 14-2-1 Hockey East) is in first place in the conference and ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to both major polls released on Monday. The Eagles extended their win streak to seven games their with two wins over Vermont this past weekend. BC is undefeated in its last 10 games (9-0-1). The Eagles have won eight straight in league play, the most for any Hockey East team since Maine and UNH accomplished the feat in the 1998-99 season.
