The Tradition Get Acrobat Reader

Two college hockey legends - Boston College coach Jerry York and Boston University coach Jack Parker will be two of seven New England sports icons honored by the Sports Museum at its eighth annual gala called "The Tradition" on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.  The event will take place at TD Banknorth Garden from 5:30 - 9 p.m.

York and Parker will receive the Special Achievement Award.

The Sports Museum is proud to announce this year's honorees:

Curt Schilling - Lifetime Achievement Award

Troy Brown - Lifetime Achievement Award

Nancy Kerrigan - Figure Skating Legacy Award

Sam Jones - Basketball Legacy Award

Ken Hodge - Hockey Legacy Award

Jack Parker and Jerry York - Special Achievement Award

Tickets are now on sale for The Sports Museum's signature summer fundraiser, the eighth Annual "The Tradition". Sponsored by New Balance in association with NESN, this unique event is held on the arena floor of the TD Banknorth Garden and features an awards ceremony and gala reception to honor sports legends.

All net proceeds from The Tradition benefit The Sports Museum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization.
