ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The 11th-seeded Boston College men's tennis team lost in the first round of the ACC Championships to sixth-seeded Duke, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon at the Sanlando Park. The Eagles ended their season with a 9-16 overall record, 1-11 in ACC competition.
BC battled in doubles action, but dropped the two matches that were completed. Sam Wagner and Brian Garber lost to the No. 34-ranked team of David Goulet and Christopher Price, 8-5 at the No. 1 position. Jason Sechrist and Erik Kreutzer also dropped an 8-5 decision to Kiril Dimitrov and Reid Carleton at the No. 2 doubles match.
Alex Rastorgouev, Jason Sechrist and Erik Kreutzer competed at spots No. 2 through four, but were all defeated. Rastorgouev was defeated by No. 70-ranked Carleton, 6-2, 6-1. Sechrist dropped his match to Dimitrov, 6-0, 6-4. Dylan Arnould downed Kreutzer, 6-1, 6-0.
