Boston, Mass. - The Boston College men's indoor track team competed against over 21 other collegiate and professional squads at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday, marking six top 25 finishes.

Juniors Tim Ritchie and James LaGreca placed 22nd (8:27.36) and 23rd (8:28.36) in the 3000-meter run. Freshman Andrew MacIsaac and senior Joshua Springer ran the 1000-meter in 2:31.63 and 2:31.93 respectively, taking 23rd and 24th. Junior Ben Kocarnik placed 15th in the pole vault with a jump of 4.35 meters and freshman Conor Shelly marked a career-best jump of 1.88 meters in the high jump, placing 20th.

BC also had strong performances by junior Sebastian Mansson (1:07.41) and freshman Mike Akins (1:07.52) in the 500-meter dash, senior Jeremy Zagorski (4:14.35) and junior Brendan Collins (4:17.36) in the 1-mile and sophomore Ryan Diorio (1:56.13) in the 800. The 4x400-meter relay team placed 31st out of 51, crossing in 3:24.30.

Indoor track competition continues on Saturday, Feb.16, when both teams compete in the Tufts Invitational. The meet will begin at 11 a.m in Medford, Mass.
