Durham, N.H. - The Boston College men's outdoor track team scored a total of 19 points to tie Keene State for 15th place overall at the New England Championships, held May 9-10. The men's squad competed among 38 other local colleges and universities.

Leading the Eagles was the first-place finish by junior David Emerson, who took the 10,000-meter run individual title. His time of 30:46.31 is a season and personal best. Other point scorers for the men included senior Jeremy Zagorski in the 1500 (3:54.26) and junior Timothy Ritchie in the 5,000 (14:31.42). His time is also a season and personal best.

Rhode Island took the New England Championship crown with 122 points. The following top-five teams were Connecticut (79), Sacred Heart (60), Williams (52) and Southern Connecticut (50).

The Eagles will try to tally more personal-best performances when they compete at the IC4A Outdoor Track Championships, held May 16-18 in Princeton, N.J.
