Junior finishes out cross country season

Terre Haute, Ind. - Junior Patrick Mellea competed at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Monday. The meet was hosted by Indiana State University. Mellea ran the 10k event in 33:30.7.

Mellea finished 185th overall out of 250 runners from around the country. At the 5k split, his time was 16:14 and at the 8k split, it was 26:36. Mellea finished a tremendous junior season, which saw him earn ACC Performer of the Week honors on September 18, All-ACC honors after placing 12th at the ACC Championships and All-Regional honors after finishing sixth at the NCAA Regional event.
