Women's Basketball Opens 2009-10 Season

The Boston College women's basketball team started the 2009-10 season with its first official practice Saturday morning in Power Gym. The Eagles practice began at 8:30 a.m. and all 10 players and three practice players were ready to work out.

The Boston College women's basketball team hosted a family picnic on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Skyline Park in Newton. Family, friends, the women's basketball staff and team support staff all enjoyed the day in the sun.

Carolyn Swords Named To John Wooden Award List

Boston College center Carolyn Swords is one of 30 candidates named to the 2009-10 preseason Women's John R. Wooden Award today as announced by Richard "Duke" Llewellyn, John R. Wooden Chairman and founder. This list is comprised of 30 student-athletes who, based on last year's individual performance and team records, are the frontrunners for one of college basketballs prestigious honors. Swords is also on the 2009-10 Wade Trophy "Watch List".
