ACC Names Carolyn Swords Rookie of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College freshman center Carolyn Swords was named the ACC Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office today.

Swords, a native from Sudbury, MA, led Boston College to a 68-36 victory over Wright State on November. 9 at Conte Forum. The 6-foot-6 center played 29 minutes, went 11-for-15 from the field, notched 23 points and had six rebounds.

She becomes the first freshman in the Boston College women's basketball program to earn this honor. The last player to garner a Rookie of the Week award was Sarah Marshall in 2003-04 when the Eagles played in the Big East Conference.
