Women's Fencing Takes Ninth At IFA Championships

Providence, R.I. - The Boston College women's fencing team competed at the IFA Championships this weekend at Brown University. The Eagles took ninth place in the 12 team event.

The saber squad had the highest finish of the competition. The Eagles took sixth place in the team saber. Ali DiQuollo finished sixth in the individual competition after defeating the eighth seeded, Caroline Block to move into the next round. DiQuollo fell to Olympic bronze medalist Sada Jacobson of Yale in the following round.

The epee team also had a successful day with a seventh place finish in the final team standings. In the individual epee Tiffany White took 10th place and Clara Yum finished 15th.

The foil team came in 11th with six points.

The 6-weapon team took ninth place with 62 points. Harvard won the event with 155 points.

BC will compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Sunday, March 6.
