Patterson, Calif. - The Boston College women's golf team continued spring competition at the Diablo Grande Intercollegiate, completing the three-day intercollegiate in a tie for fourth-place out of 10 teams Tuesday.
The Eagles combined for an overall score of 995, tying tournament host Drake University. Sophomore Natalie Draganza led the Eagles in a three-way tie for seventh place. She completed the three rounds with a score of 241 (85, 78, 78). Fellow sophomore Meghan Martinek placed next for BC, finishing in 10th place with a combined score of 243 (83, 79, 81). Freshman Kelsey Rockey (19th) and seniors Katie Napleton (35th) and Lara Smilnak (48th) wrapped up the Eagles' top performances, marking scores of 249, 262 and 271 respectively.
Minnesota won the tournament posting a final round low score of 952. Gopher junior Young Na Lee took home the individual title with a combined score of 237 (86, 78, 72). Southern Illinois placed second and Northern Iowa finished third.
The Eagles will next travel to Beallsville, Md. to compete in the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown University beginning March 31. Daily statistics will be made available through www.golfstat.com.
