BC vs. Connecticut Box Score

The Boston College women's ice hockey team skated to a 0-0 tie with Connecticut before grabbing an additional league point on its record with a 1-0 shootout win on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles are now 3-3-5 on the year while Vermont moves to 5-4-3.

The game was a back and forth contest between the Eagles and the Huskies, with the two teams battling very tough with one another. BC sophomore goalie Kiera Kingston was one of the main reasons that the Eagles were able to stay with Connecticut for the entire 60 minutes. Kingston turned aside all 33 shots that came her way during the first three periods, not letting the Huskies grab any edge in the match.

The two teams would advance to a shootout to fight over an extra point on their respective league records. BC senior Allie Thunstrom notched the first goal of the day on the Eagles' first shot in the competition and that would be all they would need to finish the day. Kingston would not give the Huskies any chance at scoring and BC would earn the additional Hockey East point.

The Eagles will face Connecticut again tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
