Feb. 10, 2005

Final Stats

The Boston College women's ski team won its first race of the season on Sunday. The Eagles finished in front of nine other schools at the Brown Carnival Giant Slalom at Loon Mountain.

Sophomore Kara Hoisington earned a third-place finish in the giant slalom, less than two seconds out of first place. Classmate Ingrid Bengston finished seventh, just behind a skier from Brown.

Sophomores Meghan Benedetto and Courtney Culnane finished ninth and 14th, respectively, to round out BC's top performers. The Eagles were the only team in the event to have three skiers finish among the top 10.

In Saturday's MIT Carnival slalom, BC finished fourth behind squads from Brown, Colby/Sawyer and Plymouth State. Hoisington and Culnane finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to lead BC.
