As the top American skier in the overall standings at USCSA Nationals, sophomore Courtney Willson has been invited to compete at US Nationals on April 1 and 2 at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska. This marks the first time a Boston College skier has been awarded this honor. Willson will race the slalom and giant slalom events.
"This is very exciting and an incredible honor," head coach Peter Endres said. "Courtney will be competing against the best ski racers in the country: national team members, elite juniors, and top collegiate skiers. Courtney has had a great season this year, highlighted most recently by terrific results at USCSA Nationals in Winter Park. She deserves this opportunity, and I am thrilled for her. Her presence at US Nationals will bring some nice recognition to BC Skiing at a national level."
Willson finished fourth overall at USCSA Nationals, with a sixth place finish in giant slalom and a fourth place finish in slalom.
