PROVIDENCE - Freshman Natalie Crutchfield netted an unassisted score - the gamewinner - and junior Caitlin Hiler scored in the 85th minute to lead 10th-ranked women's soccer to a 2-0 win at Brown on Thursday.

Crutchfield netted the game-winning goal at 68:57. Hiler doubled the visitor's lead with just less than five minutes left to play - at 85:13. Freshman Amy Caldwell assisted on the score.

Junior goalkeeper Sarah Buonomo recorded two saves to earn the victory.

Boston College (2-0) outshot Brown, 24-11, including a 14-6 advantage in the in first half. Sophomore Gina DiMartino led the offensive attack with a game-high five shots.

The Eagles earned a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Brown goalie Steffi Yellin made 12 saves in the losing effort. Brown falls to 0-1 on the season.

Next, Boston College hosts Harvard on Sunday, Sept. 9 at Newton Campus Field. The game is set for 12 p.m.
