Chestnut Hill, MA - The No. 7 Boston College women's soccer team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this weekend. Tonight the Eagles will battle cross-town rival Harvard at 4 p.m., while Boston University vs. UConn will follow at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the games tonight can be purchased at the door. Tickets for the games can be purchased by calling the Boston College Ticket Office at 617-552-4622 or go to www.bceagles.com for information. Tickets can also be purchased prior to the games at the Newton Soccer Field. Admission for both Friday and Sunday games will be $3 for students/youths and $7 for general admission.

Corner Kicks

• Freshman forward Victoria DiMartino and freshman midfielder Kristen Mewis were both named to the TopDrawerSoccer All-Freshman first team. Both Mewis and DiMartino earned a spot on the All-ACC Freshman team, while DiMartino was the ACC Freshman of the Year.

• Sophomore goalkeeper Jillian Mastroianni was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Season as a third team selection. Mastroianni is coming off an excellent ACC Tournament performance where she had three saves in a shootout and notched 11 saves in a 1-0 loss to UNC. Mastroianni has 11 shutouts this season and was named to the All-ACC first team.

• The Eagles have outscored their opponents, 50-10, this season.

• Boston College and Harvard played on September 18 of this season. The Eagles won 4-1 behind two goals from Victoria DiMartino. BC has won the four of the last five matches against Harvard. In 2008, the two teams played to a 1-1 double-overtime match.

 

 

• BC vs. Boston University The Eagles lead the all-time series against BU, 10-4. In the last six meetings, the two teams have played in four 1-0 matches with BU earning one win in 2006. In the last five matches between the two teams, BC is 4-1. This season, BC defeated BU, 2-0 behind goals from Victoria DiMartino and Chelsea Regan. Jillian Matroianni had five saves in the win.

• BC vs. Connecticut The last time BC played UConn was in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. The Huskies won on PKs (5-4). The last match between the two teams in the regular season was on Sept. 29, 2004 at Connecticut. BC won in double-overtime, 2-1. UConn leads the head-to-head series, 26-5-3.
