Eagles Finish the Season 9-1

College Park, Md. - The Boston College women's swimming and diving team finished a successful season at the ACC Championships in College Park, Md.

The Eagles finished 11th at the league meet, but recieved some fine efforts in the final outing of the year. The quartet of Caroline Byron, Elizabeth Byron, Torey Thelin and Elizabeth Snyder, took seventh in the 200 free relay, posting a time of 1:33.97. Individually, Caroline Byron was tops for the Eagles in the 50 and 100 free, finishing in 23.91 and 51.67 respectively. Thelin was named BC's outstanding performer of the meet for garnering a team-high ninth place finish in the 100 butterfly, and also captured a season-best 2:08.00 in the 200.Kelly Leahey contributed a strong effort of 1:52.24 in the 200 free.

In the free distance events, Kim Garcia was the leader for the Eagles, shaving considerable time off her previous efforts in the 500 and 1650 free events.

Holly Boucher closed out her career with a strong time of 1:08.21 in the 100 breaststroke, while Carolyn Bowman was equally impressive, clocking in at 2:25.98 in the 200.

Other contributors included Tanya Suryoutomo, who swam the 100 backstroke in under one minute for the first time this season, and Mari Wunschel, who continued to be the Eagles' best individual medley competitor, earning a 2:09.00 in the 200 and a 4:31.79 in the 400.

The Eagles finished off 2005-06 with an impressive 9-1 record.
