Women's Swimming Concludes Season At ACC Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Women's swimming and diving finished a successful season this weekend at the ACC Championships held at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

The Eagles finished 11th at the league meet but got some strong individual performances along the way. Sophomore Caroline Byron concluded her successful sophomore season with strong performances in her respective events. In the 100 yard free preliminaries, Byron would finish in the top-20 at 16th with a time of 00:51.50.

Byron would also finish 14th overall, and sixth in the 100 yard free consolation final. In the 50 yard free, Byron would finish 18th overall with a time of 00:23.68, just ahead of teammate Elizabeth Snyder, who finished at 29 with a time of 00:23.96.

Senior Kim Garcia concluded her BC career this weekend with some fine efforts. Garcia would place 32nd in the 500 yard free preliminaries and would finish 19th overall in the 1650 yard free with a time of 17.24.81. Freshman Ashley Leprine would turn in a solid performance, finishing 22nd overall in the 200 yard breaststroke. Leprine would also place 30th in the 200 IM.

Other contributors included sophomore Kelly Leahey, who finished 43rd in the 50 yard free and junior Mari Wunschel, who placed 23rd in the 400 IM preliminaries. The women concluded yet another successful season with a final record of 10-4.
