Women's Swimming Competes At ACC Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Women's swimming and diving kicked off day one of the ACC Championships yesterday in Chapel Hill. The 800 relay team comprised of Caroline Byron ('09), Elizabeth Snyder ('08), Kim Garcia ('07), and Kelly Leahey ('09) broke the record that was set by last year's 800 team, with a time of 07:36.77.

Sophomore Caroline Byron led off the relay by breaking teammate Kelly Leahey's record set last year, with a time of 01:51.78. The 200 yard medley team also turned in a season best time of 01:48.24. Freshman Kristyn Roth led off the relay with a personal best time of 00:28.01.

It was an excellent start for the Eagles. Day two of the ACC Championships resumes Thursday with preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m. and finals starting at 7 p.m.
