Palo Alto, Calif. /Easton, Mass. - The Boston College women's outdoor track teams split ways this weekend, competing in two meets; the Stonehill Invitational held Saturday and the Stanford Invitational, held Friday and Saturday, registering high marks at each event.

Sophomore Caitlin Bailey continued to make her mark on BC's record books at the Stanford Invitational, where she clocked a 2:05.18 in the 800, placing third in the race. Her time beats her previous personal best (second on BC's all-time list) by exactly one second. She also automatically qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships with that time. Junior Nichole Lister also marked a NCAA Regional Championship qualifying time and a top-ranking in the ACC with a time of 16:44.61 in the 5,000. Sophomore Jessica Driscoll also marked a top-five finish for the Eagles, placing sixth in the 1500 (4:29.15). Her time ranks her second-fastest in the ACC so far this season.

At the Stonehill Invitational, the BC women placed first overall with 125.50 points. They registered six top finishes in all events. Sophomore Teyahnie Boone topped out in the 200 with a time of 25.42. Junior Alicia Henry took the 800 title (2:19.90) and sophomore Kelly Gross won the 5,000 (17:59.23). Senior Carolyn Rayburn vaulted 10' 11.75" to take first in the pole vault and sophomore Melissa Hadfield topped out in the long jump with a mark of 17'09.50". The BC 4x800 meter relay wrapped up the Eagles' top performances on the day, finishing in a time of 9:52.81.

 

 

The Eagles will continue outdoor competition at the UMass Invitational on Saturday, April 12.Events will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Amherst, Mass.
