The Boston College volleyball team fell 3-0 to Virginia Tech, in a hard-fought match on Sunday afternoon at Power Gym. The Eagles challenged the ACC-leading Hokies, nearly matching them in kills and digs, but were unable to pull out set victories.

With the loss, the Eagles fell to 6-11, (0-5 ACC), while Virginia Tech improved to 14-2, (5-0 ACC).

BC fell behind in the first set, trailing at one point by a score of 20-10. The Eagles rallied, but could not cut the deficit, falling 25-14 in the set.

The Eagles had set points on five different occasions before the Hokies rallied for a 32-30 victory. Taylor Williams led BC effort, registering eight kills in the set.

Virginia Tech took a 7-1 lead in the third set before BC pushed back, getting to within 10-7 after a Mollie Kolosky kill and a Jordan Meredith service ace. The Eagles, however, would not get any closer than four points the rest of the way, as the Hokies closed out the match with a 25-17 set victory.

Leading the way for BC was Williams, who had 14 kills in the match with an attacking percentage of .346. Brittany Pierpont had 26 assists, and Brennan Clark added 12 digs for the Eagles.
