The Boston College volleyball team dropped the first match of its Florida road trip, 3-0, to Miami at the James Knight Complex in Coral Gables, Fla.

The Eagles were unable to overcome the Hurricanes' potent offense, which registered 35 kills and just three errors for a hitting percentage of .416 for the game. The attack percentage was the second highest that BC has allowed all season.

With the loss the Eagles dropped to 6-12 (0-6 ACC), while the Hurricanes improved to 16-2 (4-2 ACC).

Leading the way for BC was Brittany Pierpont, who registered 24 assists, seven digs, and four kills from the setter position. Jordan Meredith also contributed eight kills to lead the team in that category.

The Eagles will look to regroup on Sunday with a 1 pm match against Florida State at the Tully Gymnasium in Tallahassee, Fla.
