The Boston College volleyball team ended its Florida road trip with a 3-0 defeat to Florida State, losing by set scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-15 at Lucy McDaniel Court. The Seminoles had an attack percentage of .405 for the match, recording 36 kills with only six errors on the afternoon. The Eagles could not overcome 17 attack errors and 14 service errors.

With the loss, the Eagles fell to 6-13 (0-7 ACC), while the Seminoles improved to 11-6 (3-4 ACC) on the season.

In the first set, the Eagles took a 5-3 lead, only to see the Seminoles go on a 9-1 run to take control at 12-6. BC would get no closer than five the remainder of the set.

The Eagles came back with a better attack in the second set, registering a hitting percentage of .357 with 13 kills and just three attack errors. BC trailed 19-16 when the Seminoles pulled away with three consecutive kills.

BC battled Florida State in the third set, trailing 14-12 after a Jordan Meredith kill and a bad set by the Seminoles. But FSU used a11-3 run to pull away from the Eagles and close out the match.

Leading the way for the Eagles was Brittany Pierpont, who had 23 assists and seven digs, leading BC in both categories to go along with three kills and a service ace.

Taylor Williams led the BC attack with 10 kills on the afternoon.

The Eagles will return to Power Gym on Friday at 5 pm for a match against Clemson, the defending ACC champions.
