Women's Cross Country Takes Fifth In Arkansas

    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior Brielle Chabot finished in 24th place with a time of 21:28.18 to lead the Boston College women's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the 20th annual Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas.

    The Eagles finished the day with 185 points. Texas Tech was the team winner with 72 points. Arkansas finished behind the Red Raiders in second place while SMU and Virginia Tech came in third and fourth, respectively.

    Senior Mallory Champa came in second on the team and placed 27th overall with a time of 21:32.31. Junior Lauren Johnston and graduate student Mary Heitkamp finished a hundredth of a second apart, both coming in at 21:54 to place 43rd and 44th, respectively.

    Senior Nichole Lister crossed the line in 47th place with a time of 21:58.12 while sophomore Caroline King's time of 22:12.26 put her in 58th.

    Graduate student Nikki Tufts clocked a time of 22:44.97 which was good enough for 94th place.

    Boston College will now prepare for the ACC Championship that will be run on November 1 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
